So you're playing Screencheat and you have no idea what half these weapons do. That's fair. The game doesn't exactly explain everything, and if you've never picked one up before, you're probably just guessing. This guide is here to fix that.

A few things you should know before we start:

Every weapon kills in one hit. No exceptions.

When you fire, other players can see your weapon (or some effect from it). What they see depends on the gun.

Every weapon is viable. Some are just better in certain situations. There's no "best" weapon, just the right tool for the job.

Also, the game is still getting updates, so if something changes, this guide might be a little behind. I'll try to keep it updated.

Blunderbuss

The classic. The one everyone starts with. It's basically a shotgun with one shot. You get decent range – you don't have to be breathing down their neck to hit them – and a bit of spread, so if two enemies are standing close together, you might drop both with one shot. Reload is quick enough that if you miss, you can line up another shot without panicking.

When you fire, you leave a smoke trail. That's a dead giveaway of where you are, so keep that in mind. And since you only have one shot, if you miss, you're basically a sitting duck until you reload. It's not a long reload, but it's long enough to get you killed if you're careless.

Overall? Solid. You can bring this into any mode and do fine. It's the reliable fallback.

HobbyHorse

This one's like playing a charging bull. You hold the attack button, you charge forward, and anyone you run into dies. The longer you hold it, the longer the charge.

It's great for getting around the map fast and escaping when things go bad. Most weapons are single-shot, so if they miss, you can just run them down. In modes like Hold the Fun, the speed makes you a nightmare to deal with.

But – and this is a big but – the charge is also your biggest weakness. Maps with bottomless pits? You'll fall off. A lot. You leave a trail of fire behind you, so everyone knows exactly where you went. And if you charge straight at someone, they can just step aside and watch you fly past.

Good in the right hands. Terrible in the wrong ones. Practice before you take it seriously.

Grenade Launcher

Crowd control, baby. You fire a grenade, it explodes after a short delay, and anyone in the blast dies. Including you if you're not careful. The explosion is big – fills most rooms – and the reload is fast enough that you can spam it into an area and hope you guessed right.

The downside? It's terrible up close. The grenade is slow, and if someone's in your face, you're probably dead before it goes off. Keep your distance. Like the Blunderbuss, it leaves a smoke trail after firing, so people will know where you are.

Great at long range. Bad at short range. Different kind of weapon.

Candelabra

Melee weapon. Short range. No reload. Fast attack. That's the deal.

You can swing it around a room you think someone's hiding in and probably hit them just because of how quick it is. It leaves fire wherever you swing, so don't just spam it randomly unless you're sure someone's nearby.

Great for close-quarters fights or sneaking up on people. Useless at any other distance.

Chefolet

Charge weapon. Fires a giant energy ball. The longer you charge, the bigger and longer-lasting the ball.

The ball bounces off walls and goes through multiple enemies, so if they're grouped up in a tight space, you can wipe them all with one shot. It needs to cool down after firing, so don't fire it if you need to do something urgent right after.

Charging is visible to other players, so they'll know you're winding up. When it's almost fully charged, the ball is massive and impossible to miss. And yes, you can kill yourself if it bounces back at you. Watch out.

Great for medium range when you have a second to prepare.

RevolverRifle

Long-range weapon. Four shots before reload. Can't reload early. Good range – you can hit someone from across the map – but actually seeing them is another story.

The four shots give you room to miss and still keep shooting, which is nice. But honestly, because everyone's invisible and you're guessing half the time, I personally think the Blunderbuss is a better choice for most situations. The wider spread helps.

Solid if you can actually see your target. Otherwise, it's a crapshoot.

Crossbow

Trap weapon. Fires a bolt at a decent speed, but the real trick is the laser it leaves behind. Anyone who touches that laser dies.

So you can shoot it at a wall and use it as a tripwire. If you know someone's going to come through a certain area, just aim at the wall along their route and they'll run right into it. It's satisfying when it works.

You need to know the maps and have a good sense of where enemies are. It's not great in close combat – it slows you down when you have a bolt out – and the laser ends at you, so if they look at it, they know exactly where you are.

Perfect for defensive players who like setting traps.

Bear Bomb

It's C4. You throw it, it bounces around, and then you blow it up remotely. The throw distance isn't great, and the blast radius is huge, so you can easily kill yourself if you're not careful.

The bear jumps when it hits the ground, so it can end up in weird places and stay there for a while. Great for defending a control point. If you die while it's out, it explodes automatically and might take your killer with it.

More of a utility weapon than a straight-up killer. Hard to use offensively, but really annoying for the other team.

Sorgean

Giant mace balloon on a chain. You fire it, it shoots out, then comes back toward you. The "yo-yo" effect can be used to set traps for people close to you. It keeps coming back until it hits a wall.

Big warning: when it's coming back, you have to move. It will kill you just as easily as it kills them. Takes practice. Not a weapon you pick up and instantly master.

wall_Hacker

Sniper rifle that shoots through walls. You hold the fire button, a targeting laser appears, and you can adjust your aim until you're on target. Then you fire. Cover is useless against this thing.

To use it well, look at the other person's screen and compare your laser's position to theirs. If you can see your laser, you're probably close. Adjust and fire.

Reload is moderate. Make your shots count. It's powerful but requires precision. If the enemy hides the laser by looking at the ground, you can't do much.

Conclusion

Have fun with the weapons. My personal favorites right now are the Crossbow, Blunderbuss, and Chefolet. Some are better in certain situations, but all of them can dominate if you use them right.
