Do you want to platinum Onimusha: Way of the Sword? Here we go!

There are 52 trophies total, and nothing is permanently missable if you play it smart. You've got your story bosses, side quests, collectibles, and a bunch of combat challenges. No DLC needed for the Plat, and you'll want to save the hardest difficulty for New Game Plus.

The "Get Everything" Trophy

This one pops when you've earned every other trophy. Simple enough, right? The key thing to remember is keep a manual save before the final mission, "The Clash At Rendaino." That's your safety net. Everything else activities can be cleaned up after the story or in New Game Plus.

True Onimusha only unlocks after you beat the game once, so plan for that early.

Story Bosses – The Big Fights

These unlock as you play, but each one has its own personality. Here's the cheat sheet:

Sasaki Ganryu - parry his sword attacks, don't let him breathe. His stamina regens fast if you back off.

Daidara - big and slow. Dodge the kicks and overhead slams, parry the swings. Don't leave those floating orbs lying around, he eats them and gets stronger.

Rasho-gan - stay aggressive in phase two. He's faster and angrier, but giving him space just lets him recover.

Ifuu - deflect his breath attack back at him. Shoot his swollen sack in phase two to stun him.

Greater Nue - target the tail. Cut it off and you remove his nastiest sweep attack.

Benkei - only Issen and counters do real damage. Bait him into attacking, then punish.

Burai - watch for the purple beams before lightning attacks. Focus Evade is your friend here.

Shuten Doji - drunk swordsman phase, then he catches fire. Shoot him while he's drinking to stop the fire attack. Phase two is a two-part fight - keep your Oni Gauge up.

Ifuu & Burai together - two health bars each. Deflect their shared lunge and sometimes they'll hit each other. Shoot Ifuu's sack when he's above Burai.

Ganryu rematch - more defensive. His demon grows and gains armor. Parry and Issen are key.

Dokyo - chase fight with projectiles. Use Oni Vision to spot the real one in his clone attack.

Benkei rematch - starts immediately. He's got new ranged attacks now. Bow headshots help when you can't close the gap.

Minamoto no Yoshitsune  - three phases, and phase three is immune to damage unless you're in Oni Awakening. Stock up on healing items and talismans before this one.

Side Stuff – Mysteries, Encounters, and Rescues

Mysteries of Kyoto – optional side objectives. First one pops naturally, all of them can be cleaned up after the story.

Chance Encounters – same deal. First one's easy, rest are post game friendly.

Byakue at Kiyomizu-dera – you'll probably run into this during a Chance Encounter anyway.

Citizen Savior – rescue 30 townspeople.
Important: talk to them after saving, or it doesn't count.

Merchant rescue – you'll likely get this naturally while hunting the 30 citizens.

Lion Dogs – location-based rescues. Safe to save for post game.

Genma notes – collectibles. Also safe for cleanup.

Grind Trophies – The "Do This a Bunch" Stuff

Here's where the Practice Grounds (unlocked during  becomes your best friend:

Blazing State kills – 50. Practice Grounds drill helps.

Reflex Combos – 50. Same deal.

Oni Armament kills – 100. Wind Whipper is fastest for this.

Oni Awakened kills – 50. Almost guaranteed one shots.

Issen attacks – 50. Practice the timing.

Chain Issen kills – 50. Needs follow up timing after the first Issen.

Assassinations – 20. Sneak up from behind.

Projectile deflects – 50. Hold forward and guard at the right time.

Bow headshots – 100. Aim slightly above the head.

Environmental attacks – 50. Use kegs, planks, carts.

Grab reversals – 50. Evade toward the grab when it flashes.

Guard breaks – 50. Draining stamina counts.

Shield/armor breaks – 100. Use Oni Power on armored enemies.

Absorb 30+ souls at once – clear about 6 enemies fast.

3 enemies with Break Issen – weaken three, chain them.

Set 3 enemies ablaze – use Firebird Flute's charged shot on a cluster.

Upgrade and Collectible Trophies

Skills – max out Basic or Special tree for one trophy, both for the other.

Equipment – enhance once, then max everything. Stock up on high tier materials.

Oni Armaments – all seven are found in specific spots; some are story related.

Hozuki Pouches – max one, then all of them.

Charms – max one, then all of them. Save these for late game when you have materials.

Boss Rematches

Second Helping – win one rematch in the Practice Grounds.

Glutton for Punishment – win every rematch on every difficulty.
Good news: beating a boss on its hardest difficulty auto-completes the easier ones for that boss.

Difficulty and New Game Plus

True Onimusha - beat the game on Carnage. Only unlocks after your first clear. Start New Game Plus and pick it.

Carnage removes Action Prompts, so playing your first run on Action difficulty helps you learn the timing.

FAQ

Missable trophies? Nope. Nothing is permanently missable if you keep a save before the final mission.

DLC needed? No. Base game only.

Fastest way to unlock Carnage? Beat the game once, then New Game Plus.

Where to grind combat trophies? Practice Grounds. Best for cleanup, not primary farming.

Boss Rematch scaling? Hardest difficulty clear = auto-complete for easier tiers.

Toughest boss? Yoshitsune. Stock up on healing and talismans before that fight.

And that's pretty much it! Take it slow, clean up what you miss in post game, and don't stress the grind the Practice Grounds have your back. Good luck, and happy hunting!
