Introduction

If you've ever spent hours driving back and forth across the same muddy roads just to deliver logs, you know the pain. This guide shows you a clever workaround that lets you deliver multiple log orders in a single trip. It's a bit cheeky, but it works like a charm.

What you will need

  1. A truck with a logging trailer.
  2. A crane for manual loading, which is highly recommended.

For long logs, you'll need a second truck with a crane to load them. For medium logs, you can manage with just one truck if you set it up right.

Directions step by step

Step 1 Go to the Logging Camp

Head over to the logging camp and get ready to load up. Park your truck as close to the log piles as you can so the crane can easily reach everything.

Step 2 Load first Delivery Unit

Load three single logs manually on your trailer with your crane. Once you have them, use the "unpack cargo" option. This will make a proper delivery unit out of the three loose logs.

Step 3 Continue feeding

Now, using the crane, load more logs on the same trailer. 1 delivery unit = 3 single logs If you want to deliver 3x long logs, you will need to load 9 single logs on the trailer.

Step 4 Don't pack the Cargo

This is the most important part of the whole trick. Do NOT use the "pack cargo" option. Leave the logs loose on the trailer and just go with it the way it is.

Step 5 Drive carefully

You will need to drive carefully, and depending on the terrain, you might have to stop and use the crane to readjust the load on the go. It actually works surprisingly well, aside from some significant health risks for the driver. Take it slow, avoid sharp turns, and try not to tip over.

Step 6 Unload at the Destination

Once you arrive at your delivery point, use the crane again to unload all but three logs into an intermediate storage area, just drop them on the ground nearby. With the remaining three logs still on your trailer, now use the "pack cargo" option. The three logs will form a delivery unit, and you can deliver it as normal.

Step 7 Repeat

Go back to your intermediate storage, load the next three logs onto your trailer, pack them, and deliver. Repeat this process until all the log units are delivered.

YOU DID IT!

That's it, all the logs in one trip. No more driving the same route over and over again. This method works for both long logs and medium logs. You need a second truck with a crane to do the initial loading for long logs, but for medium logs a single truck with the right set up is enough.

Final Thoughts

Is this the fastest method? Probably not, it depends on the route length and your skill with the crane. But it's incredibly satisfying not having to drive the same delivery multiple times. Plus, it's a clever way to exploit the game's mechanics.

TL:DR - Quick summary

  1. Load your truck with manual loading and a logging crane.
  2. 3 logs = 1 delivery unit.  Do you need to deliver 3x medium/long logs? Load 9 single logs.
  3. Do NOT use the "pack cargo" option.
  4. Drive carefully to the destination.
  5. Unload logs onto the ground until only three remain on the trailer.
  6. Use "pack cargo", the three logs will form one delivery unit.
  7. Deliver.
  8. Load the next three logs from your intermediate storage.
  9. Repeat from step 6.
