Get 3 other people to help. Split into two groups of 2. Group A and Group B.
Group A friends each other in Ubiplay. Group B friends each other in Ubiplay. Make absolutely sure that no one from Group A is friends with anyone from Group B. Then restart Ubiplay to refresh everything.
Everyone fast travels to Alcatraz.
Group A queues for Showdown. Group B queues for Showdown. Keep trying until you match against each other.
Group A wins 4 matches. Then Group B wins 4 matches. Everyone gets the achievement.
There are going to be hiccups. There are going to be obstacles. The rest of this guide is just advice on dealing with all the nonsense that's going to get in your way.
Method 2 (The Solo Grind)
Alternatively, you can just find someone who doesn't mind PVP and grind Showdown matches until you get 4 wins in a row. Or queue solo and hope for the best. I actually got lucky and did this, but it was stressful and I wish I hadn't had to. That's why I'm writing this guide.
A Note on Alt-F4
Some people have said that using alt+F4 right before you lose a match will preserve your streak. That didn't work for me. I saw someone mention you need to disconnect your Wi-Fi at the same time â haven't tried that. Another person said you might need to go into Task Manager and End Task. Someone else said they used Steam to force close the game. If any of these work for you, please let me know in the comments.
The Servers Are the Real Enemy
Most of these steps can fail because the servers are just not reliable. The game is currently almost as popular as it was at launch, and that's causing problems.
According to SteamDB, Watch Dogs 2 player numbers have skyrocketed. I think it's safe to assume that after 9 years, the servers are not equipped to handle launch level traffic.
Setup Obstacles and Bugs
Let's get the frustrating stuff out of the way first.
First, get multiplayer working.
The game is regularly hitting 10,000+ concurrent players. Before this, it was usually around 2,000. The multiplayer servers have been incredibly unreliable. On Saturday, July 11th, they weren't working at all for half a day, even though the Ubisoft support page claimed they were. So just be aware that sometimes the game will just refuse to cooperate.
"Easy Anti Cheat is Not Installed"
The game will tell you this. It's lying. There are a bunch of guides out there, but none of them really helped me because there's a new issue thanks to the servers getting slammed. You actually do have EAC installed. The game is just being difficult.
The solution? Just wait about five minutes. Let the game detect and verify that you have EAC installed. I think the server they use for verification gets backlogged from all the players and just needs time to catch up.
"Connecting to Ubisoft servers..."
Again, the game is lying to you. Let it try until it gives up and says it can't connect. Then try again. It'll probably work the second time. Probably.
Getting 3 People to Help
This is the next hurdle. You need people, and finding them can be a chore.
Getting Matchmaking to Work
Alright, you've got 3 people, multiplayer is working, and everyone's in the game. Now let's actually get the achievement.
The Friends List Problem
Do not be friends in Ubiplay with the people who will be your "opponents." I can't stress this enough.
Split into two groups of two. Group A has Person 1 and Person 2. Group B has Person 3 and Person 4.
Persons 1 and 2 can be friends with each other.
Persons 3 and 4 can be friends with each other.
That's it. No cross-friending.
If you're friends across groups, the matchmaking system will try to put you together on the same team instead of against each other.
VPNs and Regions
Try to be on the same network, or use a VPN to make it look like you are. One helpful user, Mincho, posted a guide for a VPN that works with Ubisoft games. It was originally for Rainbow Six Siege, but you can just point it to Watch Dogs instead.
This step might be optional. We had a mix of US and UK players, and it worked eventually. It took longer and there were disconnects and crashes, but it did work.
However, we tried again with mostly Asian players and couldn't get a match at all. Maybe we needed VPNs, maybe the servers were slammed, maybe an Ubisoft dev personally blocked us. There's no way to know.
The Easy Part
Once you get matched up, the game should automatically start rematches for you. You don't need to keep requeuing.
Let Team A win 4 matches.
Then let Team B win 4 matches.
Congratulations, everyone gets the achievement!
When my teammate and I got our achievements, they popped separately while we were just standing around a few minutes after the 4th win. About 3 minutes is probably enough. If you're using the pre-made team method, you shouldn't have to worry about this.
Some people have reported needing up to 8 wins before the achievement finally popped. If that happens, just keep grinding, this part is pretty fast once you're set up.
Final Thoughts
This achievement is a pain. There's no way around that. The servers are unreliable, the matchmaking is finicky, and finding people to help can feel like a part time job. But it's doable. Good luck. You're going to need it.
