📝 Description

Résop Paz Yandere True (Rpyt) (Rpyt) (Resop Paz) is not a game you simply play, it's a game that plays with you. It's a cute horror choicebased adventure that breaks the fourth wall, messes with your mouse, and moves your game window just to scare you. Developed by the solo creator, this is one of the strangest, most ambitious indie projects on Steam, blending 2D and 3D gameplay, bloody battles, platforming, farming, boss fights, and even playable minigames inside the game itself.

The premise is simple but unsettling: you meet Résop and Paz, two charming characters in a world that seems adorable at first until it isn't. Your choices have real consequences, and the story is filled with secrets, references to anime, games, memes, and real events. The game openly addresses sensitive topics, and it warns you upfront: it contains shocking images, vulgar language, screamers, and scenes alluding to suicide and depression. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you enjoy experiencing something genuinely unique and strange, you're going to love it.

What makes it stand out is the sheer variety of gameplay. You'll transition from 2D to 3D, use varied attacks from melee to explosive bombs, farm to become powerful and fast, and even flirt your way through choices. There's a relationship and gift shop, a shop to buy cool things, a casino for betting XP, and Quick Time Events (QTE) battles. You can play solo or with up to 3 players, including going through the main story in cooperation. There's even a jet board for stunts. And then there's Moyori Kimina, a character who is over 13.8 billion years old, the universe of Résop Paz itself, and she is in love with you the player. You are her favorite player, and she will remind you of that.

The game is mainly available in French and English, with 18 additional approximate translations including Polish, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Turkish, and more. These secondary languages don't include special characters and some parts may not be fully translated, but the main story remains playable and translated. The developer is transparent about AI usage: the game was created primarily without AI, but some updates added content with AI assistance certain city visuals were initially AIgenerated and then manually redrawn, and a small number of music tracks were AIassisted and then manually reworked. Over 100 other tracks were created entirely without AI.

It's worth being honest about the reception. The game currently has only 3 user reviews on Steam, so there's no real consensus yet on how it plays longterm. A free demo is available on Steam, and the demo had an alltime peak of 2 concurrent players back in June 2024, so this is still very much a hidden gem. The system requirements are mercifully low: Windows XP or later, a 1.6 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, and a DirectX 9.0c compatible card with 128 MB VRAM. You'll need 10 GB of storage space, and the game is Steam Deck compatible.

Who's it for?

If you like horror games that are genuinely weird, selfaware, and unafraid to break the fourth wall, this is exactly your kind of nightmare. If you enjoy choicebased adventures where your decisions actually matter and the story is packed with secrets to uncover, you'll find plenty to sink your teeth into here. It's also for players who appreciate solodeveloped passion projects that swing for something completely different this is a game that moves your mouse cursor to scare you, and that alone tells you how much love went into it. And if you just want to meet Résop and Paz and see what all the strangeness is about, there's a free demo waiting for you right now.

If the game has struck a chord with you, good luck emerging victorious!
