📝 Description

Rabbit Comes Home is a scifi survival roguelite with tower defense elements that drops you into the role of a lone rabbit stranded in deep space, fighting to make it back to Earth one warp jump at a time. Developed and published by the indie studio, this is a game where every decision is a balancing act between expanding your operation and simply staying alive. Your ship is fragile, resources are scarce, and the void is full of things that want to tear you apart. It’s cute, it’s cruel, and it hits harder than you’d expect from a game about a bunny.

The Core Gameplay

This isn’t your standard tower defense where you place a few turrets and watch the numbers go up. You’re constantly on the move, sending out units to harvest precious resources, keeping your ship’s systems running, and using limited space to set up defenses against relentless waves of alien creatures. Every choice matters, and you’re always making tradeoffs between developing your capabilities and shoring up your defenses. The roguelite structure means failure isn’t just a reset it’s progress, as you accumulate experience and unlock new skills for your next run. No two journeys unfold the same way.
Presentation and Atmosphere

The game uses a topdown perspective, and the contrast between the adorable rabbit protagonist and the cold, hostile alien battlefield is a genuinely clever visual design choice. It strikes a balance between cute and desolate that makes the whole experience feel unique. The ship itself feels like a character fragile, struggling, and always on the verge of falling apart. Every warp you survive brings you one step closer to home or one step closer to ruin.

Reception and Details

Rabbit Comes Home was released on July 28, 2026, and is available on Windows, macOS, and Linux/SteamOS. It supports nine languages, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. The system requirements are mercifully low: you’ll need Windows 7 or later, a 2.5 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, any GPU with DirectX 10 support, and just 1 GB of storage space. As of now, the game has no user reviews on Steam, so there’s no real consensus yet on how it plays longterm it’s still completely under the radar. A playtest was held in April 2026, so there’s a small community of early players who’ve already experienced the core loop.

Who’s It For?

If you love survival roguelites and tower defense games like Rogue Tower, Anomaly Defenders, or Bad North, but you want something with a resource management twist and a genuinely charming protagonist, this is exactly your kind of game. If you enjoy the tension of making hard choices under pressure do you send your last harvester out for resources, or keep it back to help defend the ship? the core loop delivers that in spades. It’s also for players who appreciate a cute art style that masks a surprisingly challenging strategy experience. And if you just want a cheap, complete roguelite you can pick up for a few sessions and don’t mind discovering it before everyone else, this one’s got your name on it.

If this game has intrigued you, good luck coming out on top!
