Kaiju Harvest

Kaiju Harvest is a fastpaced pixelart actionidle game that flips the classic monster movie formula on its head. The heroes have already defeated the kaiju. The battle is over. Now the real work begins and that work is yours. You play as a Harvester, a postbattle worker sent to clean up the aftermath of kaiju attacks, carving through colossal carcasses to harvest valuable resources and turn every mission into stronger gear. It's a game about the unglamorous, messy business of profit that comes after the disaster has already happened.

The Core Gameplay

The loop is all about cutting, collecting, and cashing in. You rev up your chainsaw, carve into the fallen monster, and harvest meat, bones, organs, and rare kaiju amber, along with heartcores. Each run gives you a limited amount of time to carve as much as you can, and both meat and coins fly out of the monster as rewards. Meat also increases your level during the current run, and every levelup grants a random perk faster movement, increased attack power, more coins, and more. Your level resets with each run, but the currencies you earn carry over into permanent progression. One of the most satisfying visual details is that your cutting effects are shown directly on the monster: you first remove its outer shell, then the meat, eventually revealing the skeleton underneath. If you manage to cut up the monster before the timer runs out, you get a fresh monster to continue cutting, so nothing goes to waste.

Progression and Automation

Between runs, you invest your earnings into a deep progression system. Coins are spent on new chainsaws each one significantly more expensive than the last, but also much more powerful, with better perks and increased loot. You can also buy skins for your character, which provide useful bonuses like a chance to double your coins or automatically collect loot. The main source of longterm progression, however, comes from investing meat into a sprawling upgrade tree. Its design resembles a grid, and upgrades remain hidden until you purchase one, revealing the adjacent ones there's a nice element of surprise because you never know what you'll uncover next. A key early investment is the robot auto collector, since a lot of time can otherwise be wasted running across the screen to collect resources that fly out in random directions. As you progress, you deploy collector bots, helper drones, supply drops, and other automation tools to reduce the grind and let you focus on the cutting.

World and Content

The overall goal is to cut enough meat to unlock all five cities, each of which is unlocked in order and requires significantly more cumulative meat than the last. New cities introduce new and larger monsters, from ordinary small kaiju to titanclass beasts so massive they can't fit entirely on screen, along with the possibility of bigger payouts. The game also features a rich achievement system with challenges like "first cut" and "zeromistake cleanup," encouraging you to push for perfect runs and gradually unlock everything. It's a title that blends the satisfying immediacy of an action game with the longterm progression of an idle game, and the balance between the two keeps you coming back for "just one more run."

The game is currently in Early Access, and the core gameplay loop is already fully playable and enjoyable from start to finish. The developers expect Early Access to last approximately three months, with a planned full release around November 11, 2026, and they are actively gathering player feedback to balance progression, refine the talent tree and economy, and expand the game with additional content.
