A game with potential, but it becomes tedious after a while.
I was really excited for this game to come out. The idea of a gritty, morbid minigame party sounded amazing, like something fresh and darkly hilarious. But after playing it, i think it's boring. Not offensively bad, just tedious.
The core concept is solid, and I genuinely love the vibe they were going for. A morbid, gritty take on party minigames is a great pitch. But the execution falls flat. It's got very little replay value. Once you play it for the first time with friends, that's pretty much the most fun you'll get out of it. The second time around, you know what's coming, and it just feels dull.
I feel like if they added more minigames, made it so you don't play all the minigames in one session, and added a "boardgame" style mechanic, pretty much like Mario Party, then it would be much better. That structure would give it variety and replayability, and it would feel less like a one and done experience.
Overall, it's not even a bad game. I had a few good laughs playing it. But I'm in no hurry to play it again. It just offers a more dull experience the second time because you know exactly what to expect. Definitely could be better, and maybe they'll update it. I hope they do, because there's a good game buried in here somewhere.
