The Beautiful World of Avatar
Let's start with what I love about this game. Exploration is absolutely amazing. Flying through the forest at night, riding the direhorse across the plains, running and climbing through the trees, even if the parkour can feel a little clunky at times. It's all wonderful. The environment is beautiful, the graphics are gorgeous, and the overall feel of the game is just really nice to sink into.
I also really appreciate the design of the environments and props, especially the clan grounds, Na'vi clothing, and weapons. They're extremely detailed, colourful, and genuinely great to look at. You can tell a lot of care and work went into every aspect of the world.
That said, as many others have pointed out, the game does have its drawbacks. The mission variety leaves a lot to be desired, you'll be destroying the same RDA facilities and taking out the same flying patrols over and over again. On the flip side, the rewards from taking down random RDA patrols can sometimes be really good, and I do feel a bit bad for the caught animals, so it balances out to some extent.
You also have to accept the gathering by hand and the short prayer after each hunt. I know it can be annoying for some players, but honestly, I grew more fond of it over time rather than less. It's a really effective way of showing the Na'vi way of life on Pandora, and for me, it actually built immersion instead of breaking it.
The story is okay. I like the premise, and some of the characters are genuinely nice. Unfortunately, the voice acting is a bit hit or miss in places, but I can't say I hate the story or found it boring. It's just good. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either.
