Raft Raft

Loneliness on the ocean
There's nothing quite as isolating as being alone on a few planks of wood in the middle of an infinite ocean. And yet, there's not much that feels more peaceful, either. This is a fantastic game to play when you want something chill, something to zone out with, but there's also a fair amount of action to break up the vast blue monotony.

It took me a while to really get into the game, but once I started uncovering the world's story, and getting my hands on some better gear and technology. I got hooked and picked up steam fast. The game is fairly janky in some ways, but honestly, I find the jank part of its charm. Most of the time, anyway. There are a few annoying issues here and there, but overall, I find the game very enjoyable, and I'm genuinely looking forward to finishing the story.

The gameplay can be a tad repetitive at times, especially while you're floating between points of interest, but if you're constantly working to improve your raft, you'll always have something to do. Whether it's gathering materials, fishing, cooking, gardening, or just adding another floor to your floating home, there's always a reason to keep busy.

I'll also add that multiplayer works really well too, though I should warn you: resources spread thin when you're playing with a group of two or more. The game doesn't seem to scale resources to account for more players, so while you'll have more hands on deck, a single player session will actually give you more resources per person. Something to keep in mind if you're planning to bring friends along.
✅ Pro:
  • Peaceful atmosphere
  • Satisfying progression
  • Engaging story
  • Charming jank
  • Plenty to do
  • Multiplayer works well
❌ Contro:
  • Repetitive at times
  • Resources don't scale
  • Some jank is annoying
