A cult classic set in the zombie apocalypse
Project Zomboid is easily one of the best zombie survival games ever made. It doesn't hold your hand and every single decision you make matters. Whether you're scavenging for food, fortifying a base, or just trying to survive another day, the game keeps you constantly on edge. Every death feels like it was your own fault, a mistake you could have easily avoided, and that makes surviving all the more rewarding.
What really sets Project Zomboid apart is the sheer amount of freedom it gives you. There are countless ways to play, you can build massive safehouses, live off the land, survive entirely on the move, or anything in between. The realistic survival mechanics, deep skill progression, robust mod support, and multiplayer all add up to endless replayability. No two playthroughs ever feel the same, and that's what keeps you coming back.
For the price you pay, it's absolutely worth it. I've easily gotten hundreds of hours out of it already. Here's already a huge amount of content to sink your teeth into, and the developers continue to add updates and improve the game regularly.
