I've got thousands of hours across this series over the last eight years, ever since the first one dropped. I've also really enjoyed Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, but Jurassic World Evolution has always been the one I come back to when I'm in the mood for a city builder. It just brings out the kid in me every single time.
I just wrapped up playing JWE2 on PC and went straight into JWE3. The difference is honestly staggering. PC performance is buttery smooth, and the visual fidelity is a massive improvement over the last game on PC. I genuinely don't know how they pulled it off, and honestly, I wish they'd go back and apply the same magic to JWE2, because I never felt that one ran quite as smoothly as the first game.
Gameplay wise, whereas JWE2 often felt like it could have been DLC, JWE3 is a true sequel. All the fundamentals you'd expect from a Frontier game are here, but somehow, they've made all the menus and processes way easier to manage. It's more intuitive, more polished, and just more fun to sink your teeth into.
I can't recommend this game enough. Yes, you could skip the first two if you really want to, this is the best one by far, but I'd also say don't sleep on the earlier titles. The campaigns are worth playing in my opinion, and they add a lot of context and appreciation for how far the series has come
