It could be better, but it is entertaining
This game is okay, but it could be great with a Soul Calibur II Legacy Mode, something that would let me use battle mechanics from the older games in both online and single player modes. As far as I know, this game doesn't have any feature like that to change up the core mechanics. I get that different modes would need to be separated for online play, but it would be a fantastic addition for fans of the older titles.
Right now, the game feels like it's geared heavily toward new players. It's all flashy animations and rock, paper, scissors mechanics, which honestly isn't that appealing. I'm not sure why the developers feel the need to chase trends and imitate other fighting games, Soul Calibur has always been good at being its own thing. Please keep the Tekken ideas in Tekken, and stop trying to fix what isn't broken.
Also, more characters would be nice. The roster feels a bit thin compared to previous entries.
The online play isn't very lively either. If you're looking for matches, good luck, you might be waiting a while. It would also be nice if the game had more room options, like endless play or an infinite timer. The current options are way too limited. Seriously lacking in some basic features that should have been there from the start.
