What’s a Hong Kong villain's biggest fear? Being slapped with a slipper.
This visual novel introduces players to a folk custom widely spread in Hong Kong and Guandong: "beating the villain" (Da Si Yan / 打小人 in Cantonese). This ritual is performed with the aim of driving away the villains in your life, decreasing the conflicts, gaining peace of mind, and attracting fortune. Typically, one writes the name of the villain on a piece of paper, then slaps the paper with a slipper (quite funny, lol), and in the end burns the paper to ashes.
The game is designed as an interactive experience. It asks you the villain's name and what kind of villain they are (coworker, love rival, etc.), then the ritual is performed for you, and in the end, the elderly ritualist woman asks you what kind of fortune you want to pursue. While the effects of the ritual are questionable to say the least, one thing is sure: people seem to perform it as a cathartic experience more than anything else.

- short (5 mins)
- the game doesn't save the name of the villain you input; instead, it uses a placeholder
