The core setup is what makes it work: you're armed with nothing but a camcorder with night vision. Batteries are limited, and huge sections of the game are pitch black, so you really have to manage your resources carefully. Your only real options are to run or hide, and I love that. There's no fighting back, no weapons, just pure survival. One thing I didn't expect? Night vision turns the enemies into literal demons on your screen. So yeah, watch out for that too.

On top of all that, the enemies are actually pretty smart. How easily they spot you depends on the lighting, whether you're crouching, running, or staying still. They'll even check your hiding spots, so you're never truly safe. It keeps you on edge the entire time.

The story is solid. your classic "evil corporation creates monsters and it backfires" setup, but executed well. I ended up looking up a ton of stuff after finishing the game, which I guess could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

But the last thing I absolutely have to mention is the leaning mechanic. It's so smooth and intuitive, you really have to experience it yourself to appreciate how well it works. I'm genuinely surprised more games haven't copied this.

Whistleblower DLC was pretty cool. I found it a bit better overall compared to the main game, some of the new enemies introduced were really interesting and added some fresh tension.
